This beautiful conversation with spiritual poet, Linda Kaoma, is the very 1st Soul Hum recording we did and it kicks off with the question: “What are ancestors to you?” From there the river runs from religion to initiations and coming to know God through a return to an indigenous spiritual home. A home big enough to hold all the practices and skills we have gathered from our various healing efforts and life experiences. A home so encompassing that everything we do becomes an expression of Spirit.
Linda is a poet and wellbeing practitioner. She mostly writes about mental health and spirituality. She holds a masters of arts in health humanities from the University College of London. Her thesis explores the potential efficacy of the poet as a facilitator for health in African communities.
Her hope is that the words that come through her are as comforting and healing to others as they are for her. Her poems offer a chance to surrender, to reflect, to be reminded, to align, to meditate, and to connect with what is calling us.
